Natural gas prices have never been easy to predict — but the past few years have made volatility the new normal. For hotel operators, this matters more than many realize. Beyond contracts, operational changes can reduce your gas consumption and your exposure to price swings: installing heat pump water heaters, upgrading to high-efficiency condensing boilers, insulating hot water distribution lines, and modernizing kitchen equipment to high-efficiency models all reduce the volume of gas you need to buy regardless of what the market does.
